Well, things didn’t go exactly the way I thought they would. I still ate the pumpkin pie, plus a butter tart and then helped myself to a second cocktail. Thanksgiving is all about moderation, right?
But if I hadn’t had room for dessert, my sweet tooth would have been just as satisfied with a Pumpkin Pietini. I had asked my husband (the resident bartender in our home) to create a fall-inspired drink and he gave me decadence in a glass – a cool and creamy cocktail with the perfect balance of chocolate, pumpkin and liquor.
To make your own Pumpkin Pietini, all you need is a cocktail shaker, a few ingredients and a little room for dessert. Enjoy!
P.S. You can find pumpkin pie syrup at a cocktail store
Makes one drink
2 ½ oz Baileys Irish Cream
1 oz vodka
1 oz pumpkin pie syrup
1 oz whole milk
¼ tsp cocoa powder
¼ tsp pumpkin pie spice
Pour all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with a few ice cubes. Shake well and pour drink into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a sprinkle of cocoa powder and a rolled cookie stick.
